Internship programs are designed to make a smooth transition from academic classes to at-work environment

On completion, every intern is expected to acquire the knowledge, skills and attitude to:

  • Practice medicine in a safe manner
  • Provide patients with the best possible care
  • Build a foundation for lifelong learning and continued professional growth
  • Gain competencies to enter residency training programs
All candidates for the medical internship program / transitional year are required to apply via DHA

Internship Training Programs

PHYSICIAN INTERNSHIP PROGRAM / TRANSITIONAL YEAR

Completing 1-year post-graduate training is mandatory in the UAE before obtaining health professional licensing. The physician internship program offered at Fakeeh University Hospital (based on the DHA internship program and fully recognized by DHA), is designed to transition medical graduates to practicing clinicians

The curriculum includes rotations in:

  • Internal medicine​ / General surgery
  • Emergency medicine / Critical care
  • Paediatrics / Additional electives

ELECTIVE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

  • Internship programs are uniquely designed to provide postgraduates a comprehensive learning to enhance their knowledge and clinical skills, and to gain exposure to aspects related to professionalism, system-based learning and problem-solving techniques.
  • Target audience: post-graduate healthcare professionals
  • Program duration: 1 – 6 Months (non-medical), up to 1 year for medical postgraduates
