Gastroenterology is the specialty that focuses on the screening, diagnosing, and management of symptoms and diseases of the digestive tract, from the mouth to the rectum, including the pancreas and the liver.

Gastroenterology treatments include, but are not limited to, screening for gastrointestinal cancer, Celiac disease, Gastroesophageal reflux, Functional bowel disorders (i.e., constipation), Gastritis and Helicobacter pylori infection, Intestinal parasites, Crohn’s disease, and ulcerative colitis, Diverticular disease, management of acute and chronic pancreatic diseases, Management of Liver fibrosis and liver cirrhosis, management of Fatty Liver and steatohepatitis.

Esophagogas troduodenoscopy (gastroscopy) with biopsy, Recto sigmoidoscopy with biopsy, Ileo-colonoscopy with biopsy, Chromoendoscopy and removal of polyps, Capsule endoscopy, breath tests (glucose, lactose, fructose, and for helicobacter), Fibroscan, food allergy, pH-meters, manometry, positioning gastric balloon for obesity
