Intensive Care Unit (ICU)​

The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Fakeeh University Hospital is a 32-bed inpatient adult, pediatric, and neonatal multi-disciplinary unit that includes four negative pressure isolation beds. The new state-of-the-art designed ICU, has flexible roof mount pendant systems, high-end monitoring systems, and ultramodern Hill-Rom beds that allow us to give the best patient-centric care and hospitality.

We have 22 single ICU rooms, which are very spacious and provide adequate privacy and freedom from noise. All our ICU rooms are exposed to sunlight and the scenic beauty of the surrounding environment

Our 16-bed adult and pediatric ICU serves as a medical intensive care unit, coronary care unit CCU, and a surgical intensive care unit (SICU). It is well equipped with:

  • Sophisticated ventilators
  • Cutting edge hemodynamic pulmonary, and cerebral monitoring support devices
  • Renal replacement therapeutics
  • Cardiovascular monitoring items
  • Intra-aortic balloon pump
  • High flow oxygen
  • Equipment needed for emergent tracheostomy
  • Bedside ultrasound machine for guiding complex procedures and diagnosis
  • Bedside echo and ECG machines

FUH has a multidisciplinary team consisting of doctors, nurses, pharmacists, physiotherapists, and a dietician. Our highly qualified nursing staff provide patient-centric and personalized nursing care for each patient in our ICU. The team provides care for patients who are suffering from serious illnesses and also for patients after major surgeries for post-operative care, like:

  • Cardiac arrest
  • Brain stroke, meningitis, convulsions, encephalitis
  • Respiratory failure
  • Bronchiolitis
  • Anaphylaxis
  • Sepsis
  • Multi system/organ failure
  • Cardiac and respiratory arrest
  • Renal failure
  • Gastrointestinal bleeding
  • Liver failure
  • Infectious diseases
  • Diabetic ketoacidosis, endocrine abnormalities
  • Critical obstetric/gynecological issues
  • High-risk patients after major surgeries
