Brief Profile

Dr. Mahira Yunus is a highly experienced general Interventional radiologist with a global career spread across Dubai Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. She has special interest in breast imaging.  One of her greatest strengths is in assessing and diagnosing lesions which are impalpable, microcalcifications and small sub-centimetre lesions.

She has been performing MRI, CT scans, ultrasound and doppler ultrasounds.

She has special interest in teaching (Radiology Residents, Medical Students and Radiology Technicians) and is a registered Supervisor in the College of Physicians and Surgeons (Pakistan) for training FCPS trainees in diagnostic radiology.  She has been a member of the team taking Dubai Course for FRCR preparation for radiology fellows.

She has also been an examiner of FCPS, MCPS & IMM College of Physicians & Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP).  She has conducted workshops on various topics pertaining to radiology.  

Her research on “Importance of microcalcifications in detection of breast carcinoma in conventional mammography” as a single author for the criterion fulfilment of Fellowship of College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan was published in 2000.  In addition, several of her other radiology related articles have already been published in internationally indexed journals.
